Now that the reveals are up, I can finally claim my fic from [livejournal.com profile] hp_holidaygen. I mentioned before that I wasn't particularly fond of it after I first wrote it. It's grown on me since then, and there are bits of it I quite like, but I am well aware of the fact that it's not my best work. That said, it's not the worst either, by far. (Not to frighten anyone off, or anything. -shuts up-)

title: Acclimatisation
character(s): Remus Lupin
rating: G
word count: ~1,500
notes: Remus in the inter-years.
Originally written for the [livejournal.com profile] hp_holidaygen fic exchange.
Title from Czesław Miłosz's Notes on Exile.
As much thanks as possible goes to [livejournal.com profile] lexiedoh, who got me through my ridiculously angsty phase of writing this, and to [livejournal.com profile] trinsy_fics, my canon expert.

So I had [have, really] a writing journal, but I haven't updated it in yonks (that was for you, Jo ♥), and it's really just easier to keep everything here, methinks. Anyway, here there is Severus Snape fic, fic that attacked me this afternoon (no really, attacked; I am totally innocent in all this). Well, actually, Young!Sev began angsting about inside my head before I even finished Deathly Hallows, but then Neville & Luna came along and got me started on something that's turning into an I-don't-even-know-but-possibly-epic series of drabbles/fanmix/thingy. Anyway, I think Luna's talk of nargles, not to mention her general cheeriness, scared Sev off for awhile, but she's gone off somewhere, apparently, and here we are. (No, I have no idea why I'm rambling on like this.)

title: And We Drown

: A short foray into the thoughts of Lupin as he returns to the werewolf colony. Originally posted to [livejournal.com profile] rt_challenge for the January ficathon; inspired by prompt 2 -- The Clash's London Calling. Overly angsty.

He steps into the colony and he is submerged, forced into a different kind of transformation that is not-at-all physical and a thousand times more painful than the other. )

title: Virtú
characters: Severus Snape
rating: PG

author's notes: The following is my brain on Chris Columbus's genius, Richard Harris (i.e. The True Dumbledore), personal angst, Machiavelli, and old term papers: now in ficlet form! (Note the lack of Wilde: I'm branching out.) I believe it is only slightly odd. You might find it necessary to be very afraid. (Please also note that in spite of being inspired by Philosopher's Stone, the film version, it is not at all related.) Spoilers through The Half-Blood Prince.

A drabble of the Remus/Tonks kind. It's rough and again, drabble-esque, and seems... scattered to me; doesn't quite fit together in some places quite right, and I'm not sure if I love or hate that.  But um, yes.  I'm going to stop talking now, before I make it sound so bad no one wants to read it anymore.

(Ah, and do forgive both the canon-raping and the possibly gratuitous mention of Wilde.  Concerning the first, I tried to make it fairly canon [and I think I mostly suceeeded], but I didn't follow it very strictly because... well, I didn't want to.  And as for the latter: well, I love him.  'Nough said.)

The results of my first real attempt to write fan-fiction.  Concerning Andromeda Tonks nee Black; the rest is self-explanatory (or explanations follow).  [I hope.]

Love is fed by the imagination, by which we become wiser than we know, better than we feel, nobler than we are: by which we can see Life as a whole: by which, and by which alone, we can understand others in their real as in their ideal relations. )
